Your Credit Card Number and other customer information
When you make an order, your credit card number will be securely transmitted (as encrypted data) for authorization and processing. ONLY the last four digits of ALL credit card numbers are kept in our database long term, along with the expiration date, for furure refund, credit or billing inquiry uses. All customer information, including financial information such as abbreviated credit card numbers collected during the checkout process, are kept secure in databases located in the United States, and are maintained under high-level secure conditions.

"Cookies"
We use two "first-party cookies" to keep track of visitors to our web site. These "cookies" contain nothing more than random numbers assigned to each visitor that enables keeping track of items a visitor may add to their shopping cart. These "cookies" do not contain ANY personal information such as name, address, email address or credit card number. Without a "cookie", a visitor CANNOT add items to their shopping cart, and will be unable to complete an order.

In addition, if you arrived to our site by clicking on an advertisement from one of our partners, a temporary "third-party" cookie will be used to provide statistics for advertisement tracking. This cookie contains NO personal information and is deleted as soon as your browser is closed or computer is restarted or turned off.

JavaScript
This site makes use of JavaScript for various tasks pertaining to navigation and form validation. In order to add items to your shopping cart, or to complete an order (checkout) your browser must have Javascript enabled. Javascript is enabled by default for most common recent browsers, so if you haven't turned it off, it's probably on and you should have no problems using our site. Security Certificate and SSL
The Earth Pigments Company uses a Digital Security Certificate with 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt sensitive customer information, such as credit card numbers, during the online ordering process.

You will note the addition of a "padlock" or "key" symbol at the bottom of your browser window during your checkout. These symbols only appear if the page displayed is transmitting encrypted data over the internet using a Secure Sockets Layer to a secure server. To check the validity of a Digital Certificate associated with a particular web page, simply double-click on the Lock symbol.
