Introduction
More than just a lime wash, this wall cladding is a French hydrated lime base with Casein. It is reinforced with a very fine granulated aggregates and a silicate giving exceptional versatility and performance. White in color, it can be used alone or tinted with our Ochers and pigments.
With this formula it is not only possible to create opaque lime washes, but also to achieve shiny lime finishes such as Moroccan Tadelakt and traditional Venetian polished plaster when used over our Sofodor Lime Plaster.
Thanks to its natural qualities, this cladding is particularly recommended for renovation of historic structures It is also recommended for new construction or wherever its outstanding decorative qualities are desired.

Application Instructions For Brushed or Sponged Wash
Apply the wash using a figure eight or butterfly stroke. Hand-stir the wash often to redistribute the silica that falls to the bottom of the bucket - do not use the drill mixer.
Two coats are recommended for a Wash application, whether by brush or by sponge.
Second and additional layers are applied as soon as the prior layer is dry to the touch.
Mixing and Application Instructions for Plaster Effects
With Badisof Plus you can create various plaster finishes including a smooth, watered, or floated plaster effect. When used over a base of our Sofodor White French Lime Plaster, it is possible to create Italian polished plaster and Moroccan Tadelakt.
Mix 1 part Badisof Plus powder to ½ part of water to obtain a consistency like thick shaving foam.
Apply this preparation with a trowel or blade to a layer of .04" (1mm) thickness over a base of Sofodor White French Lime Plaster. Once your fingers no longer stick to the applied Badisof Plus finish coat, take a damp (not dripping) sponge and rub it to obtain a floated effect.
As an optional final step after the floating, use a stainless steel blade held at a slight angle to burnish or polish the plaster.
For Tadelakt, apply a final protective coat of our traditional Black Soap while the plaster is slightly damp.
For a Venetian finish, use wall wax (tinted or untinted) applied with a rag or sponge (for lighter application), or with a metal trowel or blade for more texture. The wax can then be polished for greater sheen using a trowel or blade to burnish. Waxes may be solvent or water-based depending upon the qualities desired.

Coloring Badisof Lime Wash With Our Ochers And Pigments
To tint Badisof with our Ochers or Pigments, follow this guideline in relation to the weight of the dry Badisof Plus Powder:
Ochers, Natural Earths and Minerals: 1 to 15%
Oxides: 1 to 5%
Mix the Ocher or pigment into the DRY powder for the initial mixing in Step 1.
It is recommended to test your ratios for color before beginning your project. Do not rely on the color when wet, but the shade of the finish coat on the wall once fully dry. The Earth Pigments Company assumes no responsibility for the outcome of customer coloration of the product.
NOTE: It is up to the end user to determine the proper amount of pigment for the desired outcome.
Coverage Estimates for 8 kilo bucket
