Traditional Black Soap Instructions: Liquid and Paste
Savon Noir, manufactured according to the Marseilles Tradition, is a 100% natural hypoallergenic hand made black olive soap with many uses.
General dilution: Use 2 to 3 tablespoons in 1 gallon of hot water for general cleaning, (very hot water when diluting the paste). Use full strength on stubborn grease and stains.
For the home
In the home it is a superior nontoxic cleaner. Use in the kitchen to clean grease from all surfaces. Around the home for wood floors, marble, tile, stone and leather. No need to rinse. Polish to create luster.
Removes grease stains from fabric and clothing. Use full strength on the spot and wash as normal. In the washing machine, Black Soap can be used like a traditional laundry detergent 1/3 cup per load. Dilute in hot water before adding to washwater.
For use in traditional plasters
For Venetian Plasters use the liquid Black Soap by ounces directly into the plaster mix. Can also be used to make a paste with Ocher and Pigment powders.
For Tadelakt use the Soft Black Soap paste. Apply directly to dry plaster with a metal trowel. Pass over the soap several times to impregnate the surface making it one with the lime.
Black Soap is an important ingredient to impart visual shine, improve polishing, waterproof and brighten the color.
In the garden
Dilute 5 tablespoons liquid soap per liter of water and spray on plants as a safe and natural fungus killer for plants and vegetables.
For the artist 
Use in tepid water to clean all brushes. Leaves hair bristles beautiful and flexible to extend their life.
Cleans acrylic paints from tools and clothing. To clean from fabric, apply undiluted onto acrylic spot. Rub lightly then let set for several hours. Wash as usual.
For animals 
Recommended by veterinarians for pets and farm animals as a hypoallergenic shampoo that leaves the coat shiny. Great for horses and as an all natural soap to clean cow and goat udders prior to milking.
Available in Paste and Liquid. Paste can be liquified by dissolving in very hot water first.
Precautions: Do not swallow. In case of eye contact rinse thoroughly with clean water.
