PrintPlasters and Cements
Since Roman times Ochers and pigments have been used to create beautiful tinted plasters and renders for both interior and exterior facades. Colored plaster in the finish coat eliminates the need for painting and provides a depth of color different from paint sitting on top. Any type of mortar or plaster can be tinted with pigments. The amount of pigment used depends on the plaster type, depth of tint desired and which type of pigment is chosen. The ratio is always determined by the amount of binder in the mix. In addition to the integral color added into plaster, a final wax coat can enhance any plaster. Wax can increase the depth of color by changing the light refraction, and pigment can be added to provide more color and effect.
